Slow Cooker Cajun Chicken Alfredo Suggestions:
What to serve with this meal: A crisp caesar salad pairs wonderfully with this recipe, adding extra greens to the meal and helping feed extra mouths. Your family may also love a side of steamed broccoli, sautéed mushrooms, or baked asparagus. Our homemade frozen garlic bread is also one of our favourite things to pop on the side of our plates with this meal.
Why slow cooking is the way to go: As this Slow Cooker Cajun Chicken Alfredo sits in your freezer, the chicken marinates in the deliciously creamy cajun sauce. Then, as you slow cook, those flavours soak into the chicken further, lending to a deliciously flavourful dish.
For our gluten-free friends: Alfredo sauce is usually gluten free, but please check your brand to make sure because sometimes it is thickened with flour. And be sure to use a gluten-free pasta to keep it gluten-free.
Pasta preferences: While we love penne in this meal, ziti, fusilli, gemelli, rotini or any similar-sized pasta would be suitable for this dish. You could even try a chickpea pasta for some added protein. The key is finding a pasta that can hold the flavourful sauce!
