How to Reheat Freezer Cube Meals
Once the meals are fully frozen, I prefer to pop them out of the cubes and into resealable freezer bags. This ensures that your trays aren’t held hostage in the freezer and can be used again.
The meals also last longer this way. When freezer cooking, air is what causes freezer burn. Because there is a small gap between the top of the food in the tray and the lid, frost can accumulate there. But if you pop the cubes out once frozen and store them in a freezer safe bag with as much air removed as possible, you prevent that issue from happening.
When reheating, you can take out as many cubes as you need and reheat in a pot on the stove, in the oven, or in the microwave. When using the microwave, I recommend using the defrost setting initially and once it’s defrosted, then using a regular cook time. Cook times vary between various meals and depending on your microwave.
