Substitution Ideas for this Casserole

Using pre-cooked chicken is key in this recipe. But if you don’t want to use chicken breasts, you could substitute them with rotisserie chicken, shredded cooked chicken thighs, or even turkey.

Swap out the cooked bacon crumbles for turkey bacon for a healthier option. Again, just make sure the turkey bacon is pre-cooked so it does not become chewy.

Instead of broccoli, you could substitute with cauliflower bites, or even a frozen mixed vegetable blend.

To make this dish completely vegetarian, swap out the chicken for pre-cooked plant-based chicken strips and pre-cooked vegetarian bacon crumbles.

What to Serve with this Casserole

This Chicken Bacon Ranch Casserole can be served by itself, or you can add cooked pasta or rice for a heartier option.

A simple garden salad with a light dressing is a fresh side idea that will help balance the richness of this dish. Fruit salad is another great option for a sweet element.

Coleslaw, garlic bread, or rolls are also great side dish options.
