Easy Italian Meatballs Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds frozen, pre-cooked meatballs
  • 700 milliliters red pasta sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Dash of salt
  • Dash of pepper

Assembly Instructions:

  1. Place the frozen meatballs, pasta sauce, rosemary, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a large resealable freezer bag.
  2. Seal the opening of the bag and squish the ingredients together until well mixed.
  3. Remove excess air from the bag, seal it, and place the meatballs in the freezer until you’re ready to start cooking.

Cooking instructions:

  1. Transfer the meatballs to the refrigerator to thaw overnight.
  2. To cook on the stovetop: Transfer the contents of the bag into a large skillet and cook over medium heat until the meatballs are warmed through.
  3. To cook in the slow cooker: Pour the contents of the bag into the bowl of the slow cooker and cook on low for one to two hours.

Is It Better to Fry or Bake Italian Meatballs?

There are so many different ways to heat up your Italian meatballs after they’ve thawed in the fridge! And the good news is that no one preparation method is better than another.

The way you choose to reheat your meatballs is totally up to you and your preferred method of cooking! You can reheat your meatballs:

  • On the stovetop. Pour the meatballs and sauce into a large pan and cook over medium heat until the sauce begins to bubble and the meatballs are warmed through the center.
  • In the oven. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and place the meatballs and sauce in a baking dish. Bake for around 20 minutes, until the sauce is warmed through and the meatballs are cooked.
  • In the slow cooker. Transfer the sauce and meatballs to the bowl of the slow cooker and cook on low for one to two hours, warming the sauce and cooking the meatballs.

How Do I Store Italian Meatballs?
