Frozen Oreo Pie

We have a tradition in our home, where the kids get to pick any dessert they want for their birthday. This Frozen Oreo Pie was born because someone really wanted Oreo pie! From there, this tasty invention came to life. The best part of this Oreo dessert is that it doesn’t take much effort at all, just 3 ingredients! white ice cream in a chocolate pie crust in a foil pie plate sprinkled with chocolate crumbs

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • This Oreo Pie is budget friendly. I added up the costs and it was less than $10 for all of the ingredients. Birthday cakes can be $20-$50!
  • Perfect for Oreo lovers. Everyone in my immediate family loves Oreos, so it only makes sense that this Oreo cake is a hit in our house.
  • Limited ingredients. I don’t know about you, but I have zero desire to use 20 ingredients to make one cake. Three ingredients is a great number!

Frozen Oreo Pie Ingredients

  • Pie Crust – You’ll need this pre-made chocolate pie crust to make this pie. You can make your own pie crust, but we’re aiming to keep things easy.
  • Cool Whip – I used about ½ of an 8 ounce container for this recipe. Which means you could make two pies out of one container of Cool Whip.
  • Oreo or Cookies & Cream ice cream – Keep in mind that the Cookies and Cream options is just the off brand version of “Oreo” most of the time.

Now for the best part that you can add, if you’d like: chocolate cookie crumb topping. This takes the pie to the next level and makes it taste even more Oreo pie like! white ice cream in a chocolate crust pie sprinkled with chocolate crumbs

How to Make Frozen Oreo Pie

  1. Let the ice cream sit out at room temperature for a few minutes to soften.
  2. Scoop 3 1/2 cups of the ice cream into a medium to large size bowl.
  3. Fold in the Cool Whip. Scoop the ice cream and Cool Whip mixture into the pre-made chocolate pie crust.

Can I use a different type of cookie for the crust?

Yes, you can use a different type of cookie for the crust if you prefer. The crust is typically made with Oreo cookies, but you can experiment with other cookies like graham crackers, chocolate wafers, or even chocolate chip cookies. Just crush the cookies into crumbs and mix them with melted butter to form the crust.

Can I add any toppings to Frozen Oreo Pie?

You can get creative with the toppings for your Frozen Oreo Pie.

  • Drizzle chocolate syrup or hot fudge sauce over the top.
  • Sprinkle crushed Oreo cookies, chocolate chips, or chopped nuts on top.
  • Add a dollop of whipped cream and a cherry on each slice.
  • Dust the pie with powdered sugar or cocoa powder for an extra touch.
