Cheeseburger Pie

Cheeseburger pie has everything you would expect in a burger and if you want to, you can even serve it with ketchup and a side of fries!two meat pies one topped with cheese and a slice next to friesThis recipe takes the flavors of a cheeseburger and puts them inside a pie crust. What child wouldn’t love that?! I kind of think of it as the winter version of a hamburger.

One reason I really enjoy making this recipe is that this particular recipe makes two meat pies. If you have a large family, then you know how important this is! If you have a smaller family, then you can freeze the second pie for later. You can also make this recipe ahead of time, freeze it, and bake it when you’re ready. two meat pies topped with melted cheese

What is cheeseburger pie?

Cheeseburger pie is a savory dish that combines the flavors of a cheeseburger with a flaky pie crust. It typically includes ground beef, onions, cheese, and a variety of seasonings.

Why You’ll Love Cheeseburger Pie

  • Let’s face it: it’s fun!
  • Just like making cheeseburgers, everyone can add their own toppings if they want to customize it.
  • It’s kid friendly because it’s a cheeseburger in a pie!

Cheeseburger Pie Ingredients

  • Unbaked pie shells – I prefer to buy the frozen variety, but you can also make your own if you prefer.
  • Eggs – The eggs for this recipe need to be slightly beaten.
  • Onion – You will want to make sure the onion is minced or cut up very small.
  • Milk – To help make the recipe, you’ll need a little milk.
  • Mustard – I love how mustard tastes on this pie, but you can choose not to add it.
  • Parsley flakes – For a little extra flavor, parsley flakes are needed.
  • Worcestershire sauce – This sauce goes into almost every meat dish I make in my house.
  • Bread crumbs – The bread crumbs help everything stick together in this recipe.
  • Ground beef – You can use ground beef, ground turkey, or even ground chicken.
  • Tomato sauce – To help this cheeseburger pie get that delicious taste, you need tomato sauce.
  • Grated cheddar cheese – You can’t have this without cheese of course!
  • Paprika – Just a sprinkle.

What are some serving suggestions for cheeseburger pie?

Cheeseburger pie pairs well with a variety of side dishes such as a green salad, French fries, or roasted vegetables. You can also serve it with condiments like ketchup, mustard, or pickles.

We like it with French fries and ketchup to double down on the idea of it being a burger meal.
