Sheet Pan Beef and Broccoli Recipe Ideas
This quick and easy dinner recipe is perfect for a busy weeknight. And since it’s so simple to prepare, it is also simple to adjust! Try these recipe ideas to create a delicious dinner for your family this week.
- Serve over rice. While your beef, broccoli, and sauce are cooking, prepare a batch of white, brown, or jasmine rice to go along with your dinner. This finishing touch will allow you to prepare a full meal for your family with just a little bit of prep work.
- Add more veggies. Although classic beef and broccoli is typically prepared with just broccoli, there’s no reason you couldn’t add more veggies to your sheet pan meal! Try mixing in some cauliflower, bell peppers, onions, water chestnuts, snow peas, or carrot slices to add more flavor and vegetables to your family’s dinner.
- Try different cuts of beef. Using stir fry strips is a great way to help speed up the prep work of this easy recipe. But if you have some extra time, you can experiment with different cuts of beef for your beef and broccoli. Try cutting flank steak, sirloin, ribeye, strip steak, or flat iron steak into thin strips to make this oven baked Chinese dish.
How Do You Cook Broccoli with Meat?
Cooking meat and vegetables at the same time can be tricky. That’s because meat often takes longer to cook than vegetables. The key to evenly cooking both your beef and broccoli in the oven is to cut your beef into thin strips.
Using small strips of meat will help the beef cook faster, ensuring that your broccoli cooks through without burning. It also helps keep the beef tender, allowing you to fully cook both ingredients in your meal without worrying about overcooking the vegetables or undercooking the meat.
How Do I Store Beef and Broccoli?
Once your family is finished enjoying their at-home Chinese dinner, you might have a few leftovers that you can reheat the next day. To store your leftover dinner safely, transfer the beef and broccoli to an airtight container. Place it in the fridge and it will stay good for up to three days.
