How can I tell when my Turkey Sliders are Ready?

These types of sandwiches go from perfect to burned pretty quickly. The easiest way to tell is to watch for the cheese to get melty. This is a good indication that the sandwich is cooked through and ready to enjoy. Start checking the sandwiches at fifteen minutes if your oven runs hot.

Do I have to freeze these sandwiches before baking them?

No. You can make a tray to freeze and bake later, but you can also make up a tray and put them straight in the oven.

Can I make Turkey Sliders Gluten Free?

If you have a gluten-free guest, the easiest way to make these would be to buy a single GF roll and bake it on a separate tray. It will not take as long as the full recipe. Everything else in the recipe is gluten-free, but you might want to read the dressing ingredients just in case.

Change up the meats. You don’t have to use bacon if you don’t like bacon, and you don’t have to use turkey if you don’t like turkey. Any sandwich meat will work similarly as long as you enjoy the flavors. Pepperoni, ham, roast beef, salami, or pastrami are all options. You can use one, two or several types of meat. The only deli meat I would not suggest is bologna.

Try different cheeses. Depending on the meat of your choice, you could use slices of cheddar, provolone, Swiss, colby jack, colby, American, Havarti, or pepper jack.

Different dressings or sauces work well too! You can literally change up this entire sandwich and have a freezer full of different options. Besides ranch, you could try BBQ sauce, Thousand Island, Italian, Greek, French, or just about any dressing you love on sandwich. Pesto would also be fantastic.

Get a variety of different rolls. I’ve seen this kind of connected 12 pack of rolls in sweet, white, wheat, pretzel, and sourdough options. Any of those would work and will add variation to your meals.

Top it differently. Melted butter can be combined with a bit of worchestershire sauce for a little bite, a dash of hot sauce for heat, or garlic for a fun twist. You can use the minced onions we describe, but you can also mix in onion soup mix, or your favorite seasoning blend from the cabinet. You could even just go with salt and pepper on top. Instead of onions, you could use sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or flax seed.

Add cooked veggies. Sun-dried tomatoes, sauteed onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, or hot peppers all add a unique and special touch to the sandwiches. If you add a lot to the sandwich, it may need multiple layers of cheese.

How do I store Turkey Sliders?

Leftovers can be refrigerated and microwaved for about thirty seconds. Keep them in an airtight container for a few days. You could also reheat them in the oven, but microwave is faster. For safety reasons, you should not refreeze the sliders once you thaw and bake them.

What to Serve with Turkey Sliders

We find it so easy to bake these and serve them with potato chips and fresh fruit, such as washed berries or sliced watermelon. If you have enough time, you could make tater tots, French fries, or fried potatoes. A bagged salad or prepared raw veggies and ranch dressing is an easy add.
